Beijing South Railway Station

Opened in 1897, renovated in 2006- 2008, and reopened on 1 August 2008, Beijing South Railway Station (Chinese name 北京南站, Beijing Nan) is located 6km southwest of donwtown of Beijing, between the 2nd and 3rd ring roads. As one of the largest railway station in Asia, Beijing South Railway station combines both ordinary passenger train station (denoted with letter Z/T/K) and high-speed train station(G/D/C series). It covers 320,000 square metres, and has 13 platforms, 24 railway tracks. This station is mainly serving high speed trains, operating 383 high-speed trains and on average has 135,000 entrances and exits per day, including Beijing-Shanghai High Speed Railways.
