Opened on April 26 2010, Xiamen North Railway Station (Chinese name 厦门北站, Xiamen Bei) is located in Houxi Town, Jimei District, around 25km north of Xiamen urban center. The station is a high-speed rail hub that covers 110,000 square metre, and has 6 platforms and 12 railway tracks. Xiamen North Railway Station is mainly serving 125 high-speed trains per day, including Fuzhou-Xiamen railway and Xiamen-Shenzhen railway .

The platforms are on 1F and arrivals are on B1. The Metro Line 1 station is on B1. That line connects the station with Xiamen's urban center.

Metro line 1 is the mostly recommended public way to or leave Xiamen North Railway Station that links the station with downtown of Xiamen. The metro station is on B1, arrivals of station. Lines 3 and 5 will come to the station later.

Departures
Step 1:Get to the south or north entrance at Xiamen North Railway Station by metro, bus, taxi or Car.
Step 2: Go through Security Check and real-name ID check to enter departure Hall by showing passport. If you train is to Hong Kong, you need to pick up your printed tickets before enter the departures hall
Step 3: Find the Boarding Gate (Ticket Check Gate). The gate No. will be in the confirmation email we send to you.
Step 4: Have a seat near the gate to wait for check-in and boarding. The boarding gate will be opened 20 - 15 minutes prior to the departure time.
Step 5: Ticket check. Please show your passport and confirmation No. to station staff to check in. If you train is to Hong Kong, please show your train tickets to station staff to check in the train. The boarding gate will be closed 5 minutes before the train departs
Step 6: Find the platform of your train.

There are two ticket office on 1F and two ticket offices on 2F
Do you need to collect train tickets?
Since Dec 2019, the electronic tickets have been available on most train routes from or to Xiamen North Railway Station.
It means international travellers can show their passports, likes Chinese ID to check in and board the train directly, and don't need to collect the printed tickets at ticket office.
But if you train is to Hong Kong, you need to pick up your printed tickets before enter the departures hall.

Arrivals
Step 1: After get off your train, follow direction signs to exits. And please show your passport and confirmation No.(or printed ticket) to station staff to check out.
Step 2: Leave Xiamen North Railway Station by metro, bus, taxi or car.
Tip: There are no public transportation anymore, including bus or metro after 22:30. And there will be lots of passengers lining up for Taxi . So it is strongly recommended that you book a car in advance to pick up you if you arrive at Xiamen North Railway station after 22:30.
