Opened in July, 2006, Lhasa Railway Station (Chinese name 拉萨站, Lasa Zhan) is located in Liuwu new district, 7km southwest of Lhasa city center.

Lhasa railway station covers 23,620 square metres, and has 6 platforms and 10 railway tracks. Lhasa Railway Station is one of the terminal stations of Qing-Zang rail(Qinghai to Tibet) bounding from Lhasa to major cities in China, such as Lanzhou, Xining, Chengdu, Chongqing. It is also the terminal of Lhasa - Nyingchi High speed rail and Lhasa - Shigatse High Speed Rail. The station mainly serves 4 high-speed trains per day.

Departures

Step 1:Get to Lhasa Railway Station by Taxi, Bus or Car 45 minutes before train departure.

Step 2: At entrance, go through Security Check and real-name ID check to enter departure Hall by showing passport.

Step 3: Find the Boarding Gate (Ticket Check Gate). The gate No. will be in the confirmation email we send to you.

Step 4: Have a seat near the gate to wait for check-in and boarding. The boarding gate will be opened 20 - 15 minutes prior to the departure time.

Step 5: Ticket check. Please show your passport and confirmation No. to station staff to check in. The boarding gate will be closed 5 minutes before the train departs

Do you need to collect train tickets?

Since Dec 2019, the electronic tickets have been available on most train routes from or to Lhasa Railway Station.

It means international travellers can show their passports, likes Chinese ID to check in and board the train directly, and don't need to collect the printed tickets at ticket office.
