The new 435km Lhasa-Nyingchi railway opened on June 25 2021, which is the first electrified rail in Tibet and links two cities in Tibet, Nyingchi and Gonggar. One Fuxing bullet train D8981 equipped with oxygen supplies runs from Gonggar to Nyingchi at 08:55AM every day. It finishs this 361km journey in 3 hours with a maximum speed of 160 km/h. The ticket prices are USD22 to USD69.

Gonggar Railway Station is located 16km east of Gonggar International Airport(LXA).
