The new 435km Lhasa-Nyingchi railway opened on June 25 2021, which is the first electrified rail in Tibet and links two cities in Tibet, Lhasa and Gonggar. One Fuxing bullet train D8981 equipped with oxygen supplies runs from Lhasa to Gonggar at 08:20AM every day. It finishs this 72km journey in 33 minutes with a maximum speed of 160 km/h. The ticket prices are USD7 to USD14.

Gonggar Railway Station is located 16km east of Gonggar International Airport(LXA).
