Guangzhou East Railway Station
Operated in 1996, expanded in 2005, Guangzhou East Railway Station (Chinese name 广州东站，Guangzhou Dong Zhan) is located in Tianhe District, northeast of Guangzhou downtown. This station covers 110,000 square metres, and has 7 platforms, 14 railway tracks. Guangzhou East Railway Station combines both ordinary passenger train station (denoted with letter Z/T/K) and high-speed train station(G/D/C series) that serves that serves 215 high-speed trains and bullet trains per day, including Guangzhou–Shenzhen intercity rail, Guangzhou–Meizhou–Shantou railway. It is also railway station with an immigration check point for Guangdong - Hong Kong Through Train passengers travelling to and from Hong Kong.

Step 1: Get to Guangzhou East Railway Station by Taxi, bus or Car.
Step 2: Go through Security Check and real-name ID check to enter departure Hall by showing passport. If you train is to Hong Kong, you need to pick up your printed tickets before enter the departures hall
Step 3: Find the Boarding Gate (Ticket Check Gate). The gate No. will be in the confirmation email we send to you.
Step 4: Have a seat near the gate to wait for check-in. The boarding gate will be opened 20 - 15 minutes prior to the departure time.
Step 5: Ticket check. Please show your passport and confirmation No. to station staff to check in. If you train is to Hong Kong, please show your train tickets to station staff to check in the train. The boarding gate will be closed 5 minutes before the train departs

Do you need to collect train tickets?
Since Dec 2019, the electronic tickets have been available on most high-speed and bullet train routes from or to Guangzhou East Railway Station.
It means international travellers can show their passports, likes Chinese ID to check in and board the train directly, and don't need to go to ticket office to collect the printed tickets anymore.
But if you train is to Hong Kong, you need to pick up your printed tickets before enter the departures hall.
