Xian Railway Station Guides
Xian Railway Station (Chinese name 西安站, Xian Zhan) is located in Xincheng district, 2.5km northeast of Xian City Center, 37km southwest of The terra-cotta warriors museum, 39km southeast of Xian Xianyang International Airport. The station opened in Dec 1934. The first expansion and reconstruction was finished in 1990. The second expansion and reconstruction was finished on Dec 31 2021.
Xian Railway Station is one important station of Lanzhou-Lianyungang Railway, Baotou-Xi'an Railway, Nanjing-Xi'an Railway. It serves 48 ordinary trains(Z/K) and 38 high-speed trains trains(G/D/C) per day.
Xian railway station consists of one north station building, one south station building, one overhead waiting hall, Danfengmen Square(North), south station Sqaure, 5 platforms and 12 railway tracks.
The new North Station Building covers 46,330 square metres. It has six elevators. The passengers can take them to overhead waiting hall after security. The north station square is called Danfengmen Square(Chinese Name: 丹凤门广场) which connects Xian Railway Station and Daming Palace National Heritage Park.
The South Station Building covers 23,430 square metres. The 4 former waiting rooms have been transformed into train culture exhibition areas, including Steam theme, Internal combustion theme, Electrical theme, High speed rail theme. The passengers can take elevators to overhead waiting hall after security .
Xian Railway Station has 7 floors. Arrivals are on B2, entrances are on B1 and 1F, and departures are on 2F and 3F.

Departures
Step 1:Get to north station building or south station building of Xian Railway Station by metro, taxi, bus or car 45 minutes before train departure.
Step 2: At entrance, go through Security Check and real-name ID check to enter departure Hall by showing passport.
Step 3: Find the Boarding Gate (Ticket Check Gate). The gate No. will be in the confirmation email we send to you.
Step 4: Have a seat near the gate to wait for check-in and boarding. The boarding gate will be opened 20 - 15 minutes prior to the departure time.
Step 5: Ticket check. Please show your passport and confirmation No. to station staff to check in. The boarding gate will be closed 5 minutes before the train departs

Do you need to collect paper tickets?
Since Dec 2019, the electronic tickets have been available on most train routes from or to Xian Railway Station.
It means international travellers can show their passports, likes Chinese ID to check in and board the train directly, and don't need to collect the paper tickets at ticket office.

Arrivals
Step 1: After get off your train, follow direction signs to exits. And please show your passport and confirmation No.(or paper ticket) to station staff to check out.
Step 2: Leave Xian Railway Station by metro, bus, taxi or car.
