Opened on Feb 26, 2011, renovated in 2016, Hohhot East Railway Station (Chinese name 呼和浩特东站, Huhehaote Dong Zhan) is located in Xincheng District, 10.5km northeast of Hohhot downtown. It covers 43,300 square metres, and has 9 platforms, 20 railway tracks. Hohhot East Railway Station combines both ordinary passenger train station (denoted with letter Z/T/K) and high-speed train station(G/D/C series) that handles 76 high-speed trains and bullet trains per day, including Beijing-Hohhot High-speed Railway and Beijing-Zhangjiakou High-speed Railway.

Departures
Step 1: Arrive at Hohhot East Railway Station by metro, taxi, car or bus 45 minutes before train departure.
Step 2: Get through the real-name ID check. Please show your passport to station staff at entrance of station. The staff will scan your passport to check your identity document and your booking.
Step 3: Get through security check and find the boarding gate (Ticket Check). The live information of gate is on the overhead screens in departure hall, and the boarding gate No. of your train will be in our confirmation email we send you.
Step 4: Have a seat near the gate to wait for check-in and boarding. The ticket check gate will be opened 20 - 15 minutes prior to the departure time.
Step 5: Ticket check. Please show your passport to station staff to check in . The gate will be closed 5 minutes before train departure

Do you need to collect paper tickets?
Since Dec 2019, the electronic tickets have been available on most high-speed and bullet train routes from or to Hohhot East Railway Station.
