Chaoshan Railway Station Guides

Opened on Dec 28 2013, Chaoshan Railway Station (Chinese name 潮汕站, Chaoshan Zhan) is located in Chaoan District, 18km southwest of Chaozhou downtown and 30km southeast of Jieyang downtown. This station covers 10,000 square metres, and has 4 platforms, 12 railway tracks. Chaoshan Railway Station is one high-speed rail station that serves 64 high-speed trains and bullet trains per day, including Shenzhen–Xiamen high speed railway and Hong Kong–Fuzhou high speed railway.

Chaoshan Railway Station has only 1 floor. The entracnce, ticket offices, departures and arrivals are all on 1F. The 12 metres underground passage links the exit and platforms. The bus stations and taxi areas are on North Square.

Chaozhou railway station and Chaozhou North railway station is close to Chaozhou downtown. But Chaoshan Railway Station is located in Chaoan District,19km southwest of Chaozhou downtown, 30km southeast of Jieyang Downtown, and 10km east of Jieyang Chaoshan international airport.

Taxi is one convenient and fast, but also the most expensive way to get to or leave Chaoshan Railway Station.

Taxi drop-off and pick-up areas are on north square and south square.

The taxi fare from Chaoshan Railway Station to Chaozhou downtown is around RMB45 and the duration is around 30 minutes

Bus

There are 6 bus routes to or pass Chaoshan Railway Station, including bus k1 and bus k2 to Chaozhou downtown, bus 181 to Shantou, and free shuttle bus to Jieyang Chaoshan Airport.

Departures

Step 1: Get to Chaoshan Railway Station by Taxi, bus or Car.

Step 2: Go through Security Check and real-name ID check to enter departure Hall by showing passport.

Step 3: Find the Boarding Gate (Ticket Check Gate). The gate No. will be in the confirmation email we send to you.

Step 4: Have a seat near the gate to wait for check-in and boarding. The boarding gate will be opened 20 - 15 minutes prior to the departure time.

Step 5: Ticket check. Please show your passport and confirmation No. to station staff to check in. The boarding gate will be closed 5 minutes before the train departs

Do you need to collect paper tickets?

Since Dec 2019, the electronic tickets have been available on most high-speed and bullet train routes from or to Chaoshan Railway Station.

It means international travellers can show their passports, likes Chinese ID to check in and board the train directly, and don't need to collect the paper tickets at ticket office.

Step 1: After get off your train, follow direction signs to exits. And please show your passport and confirmation No.(or paper ticket) to station staff to check out.
