Introduction of Shandong Airlines

Shandong Airlines is an airline based in Jinan, Shandong, China. It is a provincial carrier operating mainly domestic trunk routes and secondary schedules from Jinan, Qingdao and Yantai to major cities in China.

Shandong Airlines was established in 12 March 1994 and started operations in September 1994. In September 1997 it jointly founded the Xinxing (New Star) Aviation Alliance along with five of China's provincial airlines. It is owned by Air China and has a 10% stake in Sichuan Airlines.

Honored as "The Wings of Qilu" , Shandong Airlines Group Co., Ltd（hereinafter SDAG） is an aviation transportation enterprise , a joint venture company invested in by Air China Limited, Shandong Province Economic Development Investment Corporation and other 12 shareholders. On March 12, 1994,the establishment of SDAG was approved by the Civil Aviation Administration of China, the Shandong Provincial Party Committee and the Shandong Provincial government, headquarters in Jinan.

By holding majority shares in the following subsidiary enterprises: Shandong Airlines Co.,Ltd（hereinafter SDA）, Taikoo (Shandong) Aircraft Engineering Company limited, Shandong International Aviation Training Co., Ltd. , Rainbow Jet Co., Ltd , Shandong Xiangyu Aviation Technology Service Co., Ltd, Shandong Rainbow Air Advertising Co., Ltd, Shandong Airlines Dandinghe Hotel, SDAG has formed an operation pattern that takes aviation transportation as its core business, developing an integrated business structure of aviation transport, aircraft maintenance, aviation training, hotel tourism, and advertising services.

Shandong Airlines Co.,Ltd held by SDAG, is the core business unit of SDAG, a Shenzhen Stock Exchange B-share listed company and professional in aviation transport. SDA has persisted in placing “Ensuring security, Guaranteeing benefits, Striving for punctuality, Excellent services" in first place for more than ten years. As of 2008, SDA possesses 37 planes altogether including Boeing-737, CRJ-200 and others, with more than 220 air routes and 700 domestic flights to more than 50 cities every week. We have also opened regional and international flights to HongKong, Korea and other countries. Our bases include Jinan. Qingdao, Yantai, Xiamen, Chongqing, and Hohhot.
