Opened on September 25 2019, Beijing new airport, Daxing Internaional Airport (IATA: PKX), is the world's largest single-terminal airport that located in center of Jing-Jin-Ji Region and 46 kilometres south of downtown Beijing. The distance to Beijing Capital International Airport is 67km, to Beijing South Railway Station is 40km, to Beijing West Railway Station is 48km, and to the Xiongan New Area is 55km.

The new airport serves as a second international airport for Beijing and will take the pressure off Beijing Capital International Airport. 19 airlines-members of the Skyteam, including China Eastern Airlines, Shanghai Airlines, China Southern Airlines, Xiamen Airlines, Capital Airlines, British Airways, Air France, Delta, Korean Air, move their main operations from Beijing Capital Airport(PEK) to Beijing new Daxing Airport(PKX).

This Beijing new aviation hub was started construction in Dec 2014 which costs nearly US$13.1 billion. The single terminal, shaped like a starfish, boasts 82 independent gate positions, covering a length of 5km and an area of 700,000 square metres. By 2025, it's expected the airport will handle 72 million passenger trips, 620,000 departures and arrivals, and 2 million metric tons of cargo and mail annually.

With its centralized design and vertically stacked domestic and international departure halls, the Daxing airport will offer passengers more convenient and faster services for check-ins, transfers, security checks and baggage reclaim.

There are 4 runways at Beijing Daxing Airport. The air-traffic control system has the most advanced automation system in China, and is capable of managing four runways at the same time tha can have over 250 flights take off and land in an hour.
