How to travel to the Longmen Grottoes by train

The Longmen Grottoes is located around 5km south of Luoyang Longmen Railway Station. Travelers can take taxi to visit the Longmen Grottoes from Luoyang Longmen Railway Station.

Step 1: Book one high-speed train ticket from your city to Luoyang Longmen Railway Station, for example Beijing to Luoyang, or Xian to Luoyang online.

Step 2: Take your train to Luoyang Longmen railway station, and then take taxi to the Longmen Grottoes,

Distance: 5km

Time: 12 minutes

Taxi fare: around RMB11 one way

Taxi pick up areas: 1F, on station square

If you take the taxi, you can show the following Chinese sentence to taxi driver:

您好, 请带我去龙门石窟景区大门, 谢谢! (Hi, please drive me to the entrance of Longmen Grottoes scenic area, Thank you!)

Step 3: Buy the entry ticket (RMB90) at gate, then enjoy your visiting of the Longmen Grottoes. The visiting takes around 2-4 hours.

Opening hours: 08:00-18:00

Step 4: Take taxi back to Luoyang Longmen Railway Station, and take the high-speed train to your next destination.
