Guangzhou Baiyun Airport(CAN) 144-Hour Visa-Free Transit Guide
Guangdong Province officially has implemented the 144-hour(6 days) visa-free transit policy for foreigners since May 1 2019. Guangzhou Baiyun International Airport has become one of Guangdong's three ports of entry to implement the policy.
The visa-free transit policy implemented this time benefit 53 countries'holders of valid international travel documents who have a fixed date within 144 hours and who have a seat on a connecting flight to a third country (region). The visa-free transit policy will be implemented within the administrative region of Guangdong Province. Foreigners in transit can choose to enter from any of Guangzhou Baiyun International Airport, Shenzhen Bao'an International Airport and Jieyang Chaoshan International Airport, and exit from any of the 32 ports in Guangdong Province that are open to the outside world and have passenger transport capabilities. Compared with the previous 72-hour visa-free transit of foreigners from Guangzhou Baiyun International Airport implemented in Guangdong, additional entry and exit ports and stay time are provided in the 144-hour visa-free transit policy. Additional ports of entry, including Shenzhen Bao'an International Airport and Jieyang Chaoshan International Airport, as well as 31 additional ports of exit are covered by this policy, and the stay time is extended to 144 hours.
The Normal Flow to Apply for 144-Hour Visa-Free Transit at Guangzhou Baiyun Airport
Step 1. For those applicants who have never declared their information using the E-application system while overseas, they can instead declare relevant information via above-mentioned self-service devices unpon arrival
Step 2. An arrival card for temporary entry foreigners will then be printed complete with the information previously declared.
Step 3. By of the arrival card, onward ticket, international travel document and other necessary documents, the applicant will be subjected to inquiry, interview and evaluation by immigration officers regarding their application
Step 4. Leave Airport to visit Guangzhou Province
Step 5. Back to one port of 32 ports of exit to which this policy applies in 144 hours
Step 7. Go through the cutoms
Step 8. Leave Guangzhou Province
Documents Needed for Application
1. Passport valid for at least 3 months from the date of entry
2. Ticket to a third country
3. Fully completed Arrival Card
Conditions of 144-hour visa-free transit at Guangzhou Baiyun Airport
1. The destination and place of departure cannot be the same.(e.g Singapore – Guangzhou - Singapore)
2. Visitors are not allowed to leave Guangzhou Province during the 144-hour visa-free period.
3. The 144 hours will be counted from the time when the transit permit is granted, not from the time when the flight land at the airport.
4. Have your valid international travel documents.
5. Hold a valid visa issued by the third country (region).
