Opened on June 27 2025, Chongqing East Railway Station (Chinese name 重庆东站, Chongqing Dong Zhan) is located in Nanan District, 18km southeastof Chongqing downtown. Chongqing East Railway Station is one high-speed rail station that covers 122,000 square metres, and has 15 island platforms, 29 railway tracks. As one of the four major high-speed railway stations in Chongqing, Chongqing East station handles around 150 high-speed trains and bullet trains per day, including Chongqing–Guiyang high-speed railway and Chengdu-Chongqing High speed railway, Chongqing-Xiamen High speed railway, Chongqing-Kunming High speed railway.

Departures

Step 1: Arrive at Chongqing East Railway Station by metro line 6, taxi, car, or bus 40 minutes before train departure.

Step 2: Get through the real-name ID check. Please show your passport to station staff at entrance of station. The staff will scan your passport to check your identity document and your booking.

Step 3: Get through security check and find the boarding gate (Ticket Check). The live information of gate is on the overhead screens in departure hall, and the boarding gate No. of your train will be in our confirmation email we send you.

Step 4: Have a seat near the gate to wait for check-in and boarding. The ticket check gate will be opened 20 - 15 minutes prior to the departure time.

Step 5: Ticket check. Please show your passport to station staff to check in . The gate will be closed 5 minutes before train departure

Do you need to collect paper tickets?

Since Dec 2019, the electronic tickets have been available on most high-speed and bullet train routes from or to Chongqing East Railway Station.

It means international travellers can show their passports, likes Chinese ID to check in and board the train directly, and don't need to collect the paper tickets at ticket office.
