Wuhan Tianhe International Airport (IATA: WUH, Chinese Name: 武汉天河国际机场) is located 25km north of Wuhan downtown. It was officially put into service on April 15, 1995. The 3th Expansion Project was done and Terminal 3 was officially put into operation in Aug 31 2017. Meanwhile, terminal 2 was closed.

As one of the 10 biggest airports in China, Wuhan Tianhe International Airport overs an area of 4277 hectares, with 117 aircraft parking stands. It is rated as Grade 4F with one 3600 meter-long runway and one 3400 meter-long runway, which can satisfy the demands of full-weight taking-off and landing of such large airplanes as Boeing 747-400 or Airbus 380. Tianhe Airport can achieve an annual passenger throughput of 35 million person trips and annual cargo throughput of 440,000 tons.
