Chengdu Tianfu International Airport(IATA: TFU, Chinese Name: 成都天府国际机场) is located in the town of Lujia in Jianyang - a city under the administration of Chengdu, 63km southeast of Chengdu city center, the capital of Sichuan province, China. It was built in 2016, and started its operations on June 27, 2021. Chengdu has become China's third city to own two international airports following Beijing and Shanghai. Chengdu Shuangliu International Airport (CTU) is located 67km northwest of Tianfu Airport.
Covering 600,000 square meters, there are two terminals at Chengdu Tianfu International Airport: terminal 1 and terminal 2. It has three runways: 4000 metres, 3800 metres and 3200 metres. The 4,000 meters runway with a width of 75 meters is rated 4F, the highest level, meaning it is capable of handling large civil aircraft like the Airbus A380.
The airport will be capable of handling 60 million passengers a year. The opening of the airport could help Chengdu become an integrated international transportation hub linking China with Europe, the Middle East, Central Asia and Southeast Asia.
Terminal 1 mainly serves international flights. And terminal 2 mainly serves China domestic flights, including Air China, China Eastern Airlines, Shanghai Airlines, Sichuan Airlines, Chengdu Airlines, Juneyao Airlines, Xiamen Airlines, Lucky air, Spring Airlines

All overseas arrivals are required to take a nucleic acid test and being quarantined in designated facilities for 14 days. Travelers are expected to cover the costs of the quarantine.
And China suspended the entry into China by foreign nationals holding valid visas or residence permits since Mar 28 2020. And 144-HOUR VISA-FREE TRANSIT also is unavailable.
But entry with diplomatic, service, courtesy or C visas are not affected. And if you got a new Chinese Visa after Mar 28 2020, you also can enter China.
Effective from 28th September 2020 (12AM), foreign nationals holding valid Chinese residence permits for work, personal matters and reunion are allowed to enter China with no need to apply for new visas. If the above three categories of residence permits held by foreign nationals are expired after 12 a.m of 28 March 2020, the holders may apply for relevant visas by presenting the expired residence permits and relevant materials to the Chinese embassies or consulates on the condition that the purpose of the holders' visit to China remains unchanged.
